Famvent feels as if privacy is important, not just to us, but to everyone. With that being said, Famvent vows to protect its users and respect their wishes. Please carefully read below.
The application or "app" known as Famvent, is created for IOS mobile devices at this point. Our team is working hard to provide a cross-platform experience. While the date of Android and Desktop publication is unknown, we will strive to provide amazing service with its compatible devices. Famvent is an app that allows users to create events or activities with ease and without hassle. Users can RSVP with a single tap of a button to save time. Famvent offers an option that allows users to enable their location services to find local events and or sometimes called "activities" near them. In our "Privacy Policy," we will explain how we access and use this information per user. Please note by signing up for an account on Famvent, you agree to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
We ask you to diligently read through our Policy, and if you are unsatisfied and disagree with it, please stop using our service, Famvent.
What Famvent Collects
Personal Information that is collected. If unaware personal information that is collected is from services is what identifies you as an individual or user. With Famvent, we collect this information when you voluntarily opt-in and provide it to us. To register for Famvent, you are required to enter your name, email, and phone number. When you create an event, we collect the time it was posted, where it was posted (the location), and its content. Along with this, we may collect other information such as your contacts, IP address, location data, application ID, device ID, language settings/ information, device model, device name, operating system information, browser type and language, and version of the browsing software, how long you have been logged on, and the activities you take part of while using the software. This data is collected and without this data, Famvent cannot be used. Choosing not to opt-in sharing location, Famvent cannot use this information. Location is used to find local events and activities near you or the set radius via the app. Location is also used to find friends and family nearby whom you are unaware of using the app. You may revoke consent by navigating to your settings and changing the preferences are by simply deleting Famvent.
Usage, and Content. We may collect any information you submit through Famvent; an example may be when you submit content. We may also collect any type of metadata that comes with said content. If you do not agree please delete Famvent. We do not tolerate or have any tolerance for objectionable or abusive users on our platform. Actions will result in account deletion.
Email. We ask you to provide your email address to create an account. We then ask you to verify your email using a code that was sent to your email inbox. Limitations apply when using Famvent without verifying your email. These are as followed: Users cannot post an event, upload a profile picture, message others, receive notifications from others, follow others, and have a verified account. Please note that we do not allow users to log in with/ through google.
Calendar. We ask you to grant access to use your calendar for automatically adding events. You may revoke this access by doing so in your settings or by deleting Famvent.
Contacts. We collect data from your contacts such as people you list in and are listed your contacts/ address book. We use this data to provide you with users from your contacts that have or use our Service.
Telephone Number. We give you an option to sign up with a telephone number rather than your email address. When added, we send you a verification code that is sent via text for verification. Please note that users are able to operate our Service without applying a phone number to their account. This feature is 100% optional and NOT mandatory.
Any Other Information you Choose to Provide to Us. We may collect the information you provide to us when you use our service and contact Famvent in any way possible. If you do not agree, please delete Famvent.
How Famvent Uses Information or Data Collected
Famvent uses the information provided by you to give you the best experiences possible. Due to your usage of the app and communication with us, the information we collect personally identifies you. This information you submit may include your email, telephone number, name, contacts, and location. We do not ask for additional or other information, but with communications, you may voluntarily provide such information if desire to do so. This includes sending emails that you voluntarily provide for us. Additional data that may be collected from your usage of our app is not personal information that identifies you unless that information is put together with personal information that identifies you or unless otherwise required by applicable law. We may also use information about you by performing the following tasks:
By finding events near you or set radius.
By finding nearby friends who happen to use Famvent.
By validating your identity to prevent or stop spam, impersonation, and illegal activity that both violates the law and our Terms of Service.
By finding people in your contacts who have Famvent.
By sending you notifications or alerts.
By abiding by laws, regulations, and additional legal requirements.
By using information for short-term use that is not disclosed to another third party and not used to build a profile about a user or make changes to a user's experience.
By embracing and backing up our rights rising under and between any form of agreements made between us and you.
By displaying advertisements based on the information your location and information you provide to us.
By Protecting Famvent, its rights, and securing areas of the application.
By personalizing the app experience while using it for you.
By complying with our policies and industry standards.
By allowing you to search for events and friends near you by using your location.
By protecting your campus.
Please note that if a user reports something suggestive to a level where as authorities need to get involved, Famvent will provide all valuable data needed for that matter. Any threats made by students using anonymous mode will be dealt with.
Where Information or Data is Stored and Managed
Famvent is located and operated in the United States of America. Please be aware that you are transferring your personal information or personal data to us in as stated above, the United States. By using Famvent and our services, you consent to the transfer said above and usage of your personal information or personal data in acknowledgment of this Policy. If anyway shape or form you are based outside of the United States, any information provided to us may be sent to the United States. This does not have the same level of protection required as other countries do. Some local privacy laws may require us to receive your consent before transferring your information or personal data from your originating or based country to other countries. Agreeing to this policy means that you are, to the extent required and permitted under your local law, granting your permission to transfer your personal information or personal data to other countries for purposes in this Privacy Policy. Some of these countries may or may not have the same information or data laws as the country from which you originally provided the information or data. If your use of Famvent or the Service would be unlawful in your jurisdiction, you may not use Famvent or the Service, and your information may be made available in response to government or law enforcement request(s).
How Famvent Shares Information or Data
When you post something onto Famvent's home feed, it is publicly shown to your followers and group members if you happen to join a group and choose to make your post available for viewing by group members. We may disclose the information we obtain to third-party vendors, service providers, contractors, or agents that perform different tasks on our behalf. We always require third parties to protect your personal information by this Policy and applicable laws. We may send information or data collected from other companies within our connections or during negotiations of any dissolution, bankruptcy or similar event, merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of the business or company. We are subject to our legal obligations with high respect to your personal information, personal data, and posted content. Henceforth, we may share the information with our third-party partners, including advertisers and researchers. Once you leave our Services and are sent to another site or application, our Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service no longer apply. We may also share aggregated information or data about our users with other third parties for marketing, advertising, research, or similar purposes.
Calendar Usage
Famvent provides the option to allow access to your calendar to automatically put events on it. You can choose to enable this during your account creation process or by navigating to your settings and enabling/ disabling the feature.
Contacts
You can “Share Famvent” by inviting your contacts by email, text, or the desired choice of communication. You have the ability to pick what contacts to invite. If you choose to invite a contact, we will provide a message with the Famvent download URL included, which you can choose to send via your mobile device. Famvent also uses your contacts, if given permission to do so, to find people who have an account with us.
Content Viewed
You and every other user, have the ability to delete anything you post. Anything you delete will be removed from your feed and profile feed along with others who do happen to follow you. Though because of subjection to applicable law, Famvent may maintain a copy of the content you post in our record. You can filter out the content you wish to see in your account settings via the app.
Controlling Your Information or Data
To change your privacy settings, please contact famvent@famvent.com. When contacting us, please include a reason such as followed: deleting your account, modifying or updating data within your account, opting in with notifications or any type of alert or promotion from us, or having your information or data shared with others for additional promotions and such. If you would like a copy of your account data or have any type of request for that matter, do not hesitate to reach out to us. If you contact us about account removal well will remove everything associated with your account unless told not to do so by law. We also hold your information if necessary for safety, fraud prevention, quality assurance, or other legitimate business-related interests, and only in agreeance with applicable laws. We will hold your information for as long as needed to provide an amazing experience for you or needed for applicable law. If you any desire, you have every right to withdraw any consent you have given to our collection or usage of your personal information or data at any point in a given time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of our collection or use of your personal information or data before withdrawal.
Your cookies
If unknown to you, "cookies," are a piece of data that is stored within a web browser that a website can go back and retrieve later. Cookies are what tell a server that user(s) have returned to a specific website. We use "session IDS" or "user IDS" to enable certain types of features with Famvent or our Service. Doing so helps us better understand how you as a user interact with the Service. Please keep in mind that when you log out of a website and close your browser you delete your session or user ID. This is because your session ID or user ID is not a persistent cookie is a persistent cookie does not delete when you log off and close your browser. You can change this setting by navigating to your browser settings and commanding it to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from our Site(s). Do Not Track Notice
There is currently no information about how companies should act on web-browser-based do-not-track mechanisms. In that case, we do not respond to these signals at the moment.
Notifications
We may send notifications or alerts to your device. You can deactivate our notifications at any time by navigating to your settings, or by turning off notifications in our app settings.

Minors
Famvent is designed and intended for ages 17 and older. We try our best to moderate the content that is posted on our app. We will not knowingly collect personal information from minors we are aware of under the age of 18. If you are not 13 years old or older, please do not use the Service or provide any information to us. If we find out that a minor under the age of 13 years old has provided us with personal information, we will remove such information that was provided. If you believe a child under the age of 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we may delete the information as soon as possible.
Campus clips
Users post Campus clips on their school's feed they acknowledge and accept Famvent's privacy policy. User WILL NOT record other people without their consent and post it on their school's feed. Doing so may lead to account termination or possibly lawful actions being taken into place.
Third-party Classified Advertisements
We may provide ads for you based on your, location, content, or activity within the app. For more information on managing advertisements please visit https://optout.aboutads.info/. To opt out of ads IN APP, please head over to Settings > Advertisements.
Third-party Classified Analytics, Analytics, and Links/ Integrations
We may use automated devices and or applications, along with third-party devices and or applications to study your usage of the Services. We use these tools to help us improve our Services, performance, and any other user experiences. The information that may be collected includes unique device identifiers, device manufacturer and operating system, browser type, session start and stop times, and user-based activity without our Services. Google Analytics uses your personal information or data from our Services. Our Services may include third-party integrations and or links. Any access navigation or usage of links or third-party integrations are not governed by this Privacy Policy but instead are governed, by law, by the privacy policies of those third parties. Once you leave our Services and sent to another site or application, our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service will no longer apply and the terms and policies on arrived third-party site will apply.
Securing Your Information or Data
If you may or think you believe that your information has been compromised or accessed please persist in contact with Famvent immediately. We take the security of your information or data seriously and will go above and beyond to protect your personal information or personal data from unauthorized access, inappropriate usage, unauthorized modification, unlawful destruction, or loss. We try our best to keep our Service a positive and safe environment for all users and incoming users, but unfortunately, we cannot guarantee it. You understand and take note that your personal information or personal data is shared with Famvent at your own risk. Where required by law, and will notify you of any such loss, misuse, or alteration of personal information that may affect you so you can take the appropriate actions to protect you and your own rights.
The Selling of Your Information or Data
We do not and will not sell your information to anyone or any third party. You as an individual have every right to not have us sell your personal information or personal data.
Changes made to our Privacy Policy
We may change this policy from time to time depending on applicable law as well. Any changes that are made will be posted directly to this Privacy Policy. Changes that affect the practices given in this Privacy Policy will cause notice from us to you well in advance.
New Jersey Privacy Rights

Requesting Personal Information Deletion
Upon receipt and confirmation of your request, we will delete your Personal Information from our systems and direct our service providers to do the same. Henceforth, there is no cost for you. Though, there are exceptions to this right; we may retain your Personal Information for any of the reasons listed below:
For providing goods or services to you as a user AND consumer.
For detecting and resolving issues related to security or functionality.
For complying with legal obligations.
For conducting public interest research.
For the exercise of free speech or the free speech of others.
For the usage in internal work processes and purposes that you would reasonably expect based on your relationship with us.
In conclusion, if we determine that we will not be deleting your Personal Information upon request, we will inform you and tell you why.
Discrimination
