Hi! If there is anything that's not listed on here, please feel free to contact us at famvent@famvent.com. We will be more than happy to assist you!

Why do I need to use and verify my school email?

Signing up with and verifying your school email helps ensure safety on the platform and on campus. Users who choose to sign up,  need to use an email that ends with ".edu" to show that they attend a certain school. On the bright side users can view other school feeds, but cannot post on them.

Is famvent affiliated with my school?

Glad you asked! Nope famvent is not affiliated with yours or any other school listed. Your school does not have access to anything you decide to do on famvent.

Is famvent really anonymous?

Yes, famvent has a feature on the home feed to post events and vents anonymously. Doing so prevents other students from seeing who the real poster is. Though, users can post regularly as well as "Revealing themselves."  To reveal yourself you can hit the 3 dots on your vent and tap "Reveal yourself." Anonymous vents and event do not show up on your profile.

Who made Famvent?

Famvent was first created by one NJIT student. Since then, famvent has expanded to a team of two to create the desktop version and soon to be android version. Hence, the second member is an NJIT student as well. If you're wondering, we are always looking for people to join us! You can contact us at famvent@famvent.com.

Does famvent generate revenue?

Good question! No, but we are focused on famvent becoming an amazing platform anonymously and not anonymously. We will be striving for investors soon enough.

Will famvent sell my data?

Nope. famvent does not and will never share or sell your data to anyone, or anything.

Who are the moderators? Can they see who posts what?

Each school has their own moderator! They have the ability to delete vents and events they feel are suspicious. Moderation is almost like a voting system. Moderators cannot see who is posting what. Your identity is safe and kept from them.

How does famvent know what school I go to?

When students sign up with their email address, famvent extracts their domain and separates it starting from the "@" symbol.  Once that's completed, it reads what's after the symbol and detects their school from the list of schools we have on file. We do this instead of having students log in with their school accounts to ease security concerns second thoughts.
